Whether you have a conflict in your home, personal life, workplace or commercial relationship you need to be comfortable with the mediator assisting you with conflict resolution. With 25 years of experience in the workplace, mediator Karen Levian’s compassion, sensitivity and conflict resolution skills are a winning combination.

“I believe that mediation provides a dispute resolution alternative grounded in dignity and sanity. Going to court isn’t always the best way to solve problems, and the process throws in variables you can’t always control. As a nurse and as an attorney, I saw first hand how important it is to people swept up in a difficult situation to understand what’s going on, to be able to have their say, and help control a process with tremendous consequences for their lives.  As a military officer, I learned how important it is to resolve disputes before they escalate into full-blown conflicts.

Litigation offers a way to handle disputes, but at great cost, financially and psychically. As a business person, I value promptness, effectiveness, and expense containment. Lengthy litigation taxes all of those resources, whether it’s a business or personal conflict.

It’s unhealthy to live in a heightened state of stress and conflict. I believe people truly prefer harmony and resolution to conflict and uncertainty. "I have a gift for helping people work through turmoil.”  - Karen Levian
